The Royal 20 Summit, officially known as the Royal 20 Two-Day Conference, is a unique, invitation-only event designed to leverage the collective influence of global royalty and the entrepreneurial spirit of Africa to drive socio-economic transformation across the continent. With a special focus on uplifting rural areas and townships, the summit aims to foster sustainable prosperity and inclusive development.

The summit, scheduled for September 21-22, 2025, with delegate arrivals and departures on the surrounding days, is based on the theme “From Ancestral Wisdom to Future-Forward Dialogue.” Its core vision is to establish a global ecosystem where the power of royalty, business knowledge, and educational innovation, guided by ancestral wisdom, come together to create a better future for African communities.

Key Objectives of the Royal 20 Summit

The summit’s objectives are multifaceted and aim to create lasting change:

  • Royal Collaboration: To serve as a platform for royals, including African monarchs, to share strategies and initiatives that enhance the well-being and lives of their communities.
  • Boosting Inter-Africa Trade: To facilitate partnerships and discussions among business leaders to significantly increase intra-African trade, with a particular focus on economic development in townships and rural communities.
  • Technological & Innovative Education: To bring together educators and technology experts to strategize on integrating technology and innovation into African education systems, ensuring they are prepared for the future.
  • Mobilizing Financial Partnerships: To attract crucial investments and financial partnerships from G20 delegates and other interested parties to support the summit’s initiatives and projects.
  • Showcasing African Potential: To highlight Africa’s immense potential for economic growth, innovation, and social development to a global audience.

Hosts and Participants

The summit is hosted by the Sovereign Congress of African Leaders (SCAL), the Township Economic Commission South Africa (TECSA), and Mashudu Tinyiko Consulting. It will bring together a powerful group of participants, including:

  • Royal Delegations: Monarchs, princes, princesses, and senior royal representatives from G20 member countries, as well as esteemed African monarchs and traditional leaders.
  • Business Leaders: Senior executives and entrepreneurs from Africa and around the world, focused on inter-Africa trade and development.
  • Educators & Innovators: Ministers of Education, university leaders, and experts in educational technology.
  • Potential Financiers: Representatives from G20 delegations, multilateral development banks, and philanthropic organizations.
  • Disability Advocates: A dedicated focus of the summit is on inclusivity, with advocates and experts participating to ensure solutions for persons with disabilities are integrated into all initiatives.

Summit Schedule

The summit is meticulously structured around three core thematic pillars:

  • September 20, 2025 (Pre-Summit): The day is dedicated to delegate arrivals and a welcome reception, culminating in a welcome dinner hosted by a host monarch for royal delegations and select VIPs.
  • September 21, 2025 (Day 1): The theme is “Royal Nexus & Business & Trade: Powering Africa’s Township & Rural Economies.” It will feature an opening ceremony, keynote addresses, and plenary sessions focusing on the role of royalty in community development and boosting trade. The day will conclude with a Gala Dinner celebrating African diversity.
  • September 22, 2025 (Day 2): This day focuses on “Education & Innovation.” Activities include keynote addresses on technology in education, plenary sessions on digital literacy, and breakout sessions on ed-tech solutions. The summit will conclude with a closing plenary on “Royal 20 Commitments” and an “African New Year’s Eve Celebration.”
  • September 23, 2025 (Departure Day): This day, coinciding with the official African New Year, will include a cultural immersion event with traditional performances before delegates depart.
