TECSA Foundation Joins Township & Rural SMMEs and Co-operatives Revival and Empowerment Campaign in Limpopo

TECSA Foundation proudly took part in the Township and Rural SMMEs and Co-operatives Revival and Empowerment Campaign, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering small businesses, co-operatives, and spaza shops across Limpopo. The campaign was officially launched with a Business Gala Dinner hosted at The Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane, bringing together influential leaders, policymakers, and grassroots business stakeholders.

The evening was graced by several distinguished guests, including Deputy Minister of Small Business Development, Ms. Jane Sithole, Mr. Joosuf Pemma (MMC for Community Safety in Limpopo Municipality), Mr. Ben Mphahlele (Coordinator of NAFCOC Limpopo), Mr. Mashita (Chairperson of Township & Rural SMMEs & Co-operatives), Mr. Phatudi (Heaven on Earth Organization), and Mr. Madiko (Secretary of LISHA). Their presence reflected a shared commitment to strengthening the role of township and rural enterprises in driving inclusive economic growth.

Representing the TECSA Foundation were Mr. Seema, TECSA Limpopo Secretary General, and Mr. Bheki Ma-Event Twala, Founder and President of TECSA Foundation. Both leaders expressed their excitement about the campaign’s ambitious vision to empower over 1,500 SMMEs, co-operatives, and spaza shops across Limpopo.

Speaking on behalf of TECSA, President Mr. Bheki “MaEvents” Twala emphasized the Foundation’s long-standing mission to uplift township economies through collaboration, innovation, and empowerment.

“This initiative is not just about economic revival, but about restoring dignity, fostering self-reliance, and ensuring that township and rural entrepreneurs are at the forefront of South Africa’s economic transformation,” he said.

The campaign sets out to unlock opportunities for small businesses, ensuring access to markets, resources, training, and sustainable development pathways. With a strong emphasis on partnerships between government, private sector, and civil society, the program seeks to create a thriving ecosystem where township and rural enterprises can flourish.

The TECSA Foundation views its participation as a natural extension of its broader vision to build resilient local economies, empower entrepreneurs, and drive inclusive growth across South Africa. By standing alongside government leaders and key stakeholders, TECSA reinforces its role as a driving force for meaningful change in underserved communities.

As the campaign progresses, the Foundation is committed to supporting and guiding SMMEs, co-operatives, and spaza shop owners in Limpopo and beyond—ensuring that they not only survive but thrive in the competitive business landscape.
